Chapter authors based in Europe and the Americas present an international perspective on the issues, and represent a diverse spectrum of metadata and technology librarians, digital humanists, and other academic educators and researchers. As a librarian who occasionally doubles as adjunct teaching faculty and works with research support, I would suggest that Managing Digital Cultural Objects presents material that is beneficial both for practitioners and educators in the cultural heritage communities. -- David Gwynn * Technical Services Quarterly * Overall, this is an interesting and timely publication -- Donna Ballan * Alexandria * This book serves a good introduction to current areas of research in the sphere of digital cultural heritage. Both students and professionals alike will benefit from these works on important issues that face this domain. -- Anne Washington * Library Resources & Technical Services * This timely and welcome book will be invaluable for information management professionals seeking an overview of the theoretical and practical opportunities and challenges around providing access to digital cultural objects. Its scope is considerable and varied, ranging from the very technical to the practical, and from general surveys of the current state of the art to the findings of specific research projects. As such, it is a volume which some readers may prefer to dip into according to their interests. With its focus on new and emerging techniques and thinking, it should appeal both to researchers and practitioners with an interest in the current state of the art. -- Adrian Brown * Archives and Record
